When I thought about being successful when I grew up, the vision always involved a nice house and a nice care. As a kid I would sit on my Grandma porch on South Salina St. and claim every nice car that drove by to be mines, with my cousin playing along. For a child success just had a certain look especially in the neighborhood I grew up in. I think thats why material items seem to be at the for front for most of us growing up in the neighborhood. Having lots of money and things were the aspiration back then, but we were never taught about long term wealth, saving money, investing, etc. Success today as an adult looks alot different for me. Having a clean doctors report, can be a success for me. Now I look at success in terms of having a healthy marriage, a healthy mind and spirit, financially secure (without all the glitz and glamour), and comfortable with being authentically you.
